Azeem, former member of Spearhead, releases his first solo album which is a delightful presentation of appeasing “Craft Classic” rhymes, beats, and production. Azeem’s mastering flow rides the assortment of tight beats with ease. Azeem is a very talented artist which brings hip hop fans world wide good hip hop music to enjoy.”
Excellent word play, flow, presentation, creativity, and articulation strongly compliment the impact of Azeem’s rhymes; however, there is a slight degree of room left for growth in regards to rhyme content. Highly sensational tracks such as “Imma Rmx”, and “Anti Azeem” forcefully drive this album to the top; whereas, lackluster material like “Static Truth”, and “Bush Is A Gangsta” hold this album down, drowning it out in irritating, un marked interludes that grab attention in the worst way. The interludes are added to reflect creativity on the album; however, they don’t work well, and severely take away from the albums “repeat-ability”, and “listen-ability”.
The best track featured on this album is entitled “Anti-Azeem”, which features production from Protest, and guest appearances by Eye-Q, Sayyid, & Priest of Anti Pop Consortium. The beat backing this track grabs attention with ease, and delivers listeners into a smooth melodic sound that appeases all cravings. The verbal aspect of this track is as equally impacting, and captivating. Other than the over-used lackluster interlude material, the least appreciated track on this album is “Gods Rolex”. This track holds a greater thought provoking value; however, it’s ability to hold interest, and captivate the listener slacks compared to the other songs featured on “Craft Classic”.
All of the beats featured on this album are exciting. Protest features the best production contributions, winning praise for his abundant talent by satisfied fans.
The weakest point in this album is its over-used, lackluster interlude material which truly takes away from the album as a whole. The interludes are not marked on the back of the album jacket; therefore, creating a misleading factor. From first glance in a store, fans believe they are getting 16 full length tracks worth for their dollar; meanwhile, they are receiving 12 full length tracks, and 4 lackluster interludes. A couple of these interludes could be claimed as short songs; however, if so, they would be the worst short songs ever made.
Overall, Azeem’s “Craft Classic” is a great album, containing a wide variety of entertaining tracks fans will appreciate. Azeem’s abrasive, hard hitting flow is one of the main reasons fans will love this album. There are many more positive aspects to this album that clearly out weigh its downfalls. Azeem is a very talented, diverse, creative artist that will achieve many profound feats during his musical endeavors.
