A stunning, and exciting embrace of music greets ears with delight as GL destroys the microphone on contact. Delivering passionate, deep, heart felt rhymes that are saturated with emotion GL never stops to amazing with every word, line, & rhyme dropped. Exit 31 is an explosive smorgasbord of gems that captivate fans with their endless dazzle & shine.
Exit 31 is blessed with 17 tracks that easily appease fans & provide them with an excellent value for their hard earned cash. The quality of the tracks never dips, and remains consistently strong from one song to the next. The album opens up with “love me” which is a full length track featuring a lovely beat & gifted vocals. GL never fails to impress with his lyrical dynamics. One of GL’s best assets is his emotion and intensity that is delivered effortlessly with each song. Exit 31 follows with “Right Now”, a laid back track with intense lyrics featuring some personal reflection that fans can relate to with ease. The next track to follow is “Get Down” which packs a club appeal, definitely proving GL’s commercial selling points. GL can move a crowd and make them not ever want to stop moving, bouncing, and nodding. The beat is explosively bugged out, and GL rip’s the microphone like it’s your birthday. The album follows with hard hitting tracks, never dipping, or letting up for a moment. The album officially w(raps) up with American Cry feat. Finesse.
Exit 31 is without disappointments; all tracks are equally appealing; however, there are always some tracks that are the most notable. The most notable tracks featured on Exit 31 include Get Down, Get Drunk Music, Murder Weapons feat. Cesolito, and My World. These tracks should definitely be singles, and perhaps vinyl releases. The productions, beats, and rhymes come together perfectly, and are top notch quality. All songs have been produced by GL for NCS productions, and co-produced by XV for Royalty Records, except for Fake Thugs, and American Cry which were co-produced by Red Army Productions, and Murder Weapon2 which was produced by Cesolito for Brimstone Productions. The production team deserves a good amount of credit for their hard work in forging one of the best, independently produced album to be released. The team has done a fantastic job with little & few resources.
Critics will critique the albums appearance. The cover artwork could be enhanced; the words could be a little more informative, and clean to read. If the album jacket had more information about the label, the artist, his music, and, or the album fans would appreciate it as it would satisfy their thirst for knowledge. The album cover does not list the number of each song beside its title which will annoy some fans. The intermission (Catch Up) is creative, and intense, but it fails to be either an intermission, or a full length track; but rather, a short song featuring a tight verse that has fans wanting more from the song. In the albums defense, it is a low budget project and it is hard to expect more from artists, and labels that are working with a lot less than the “commercial industry”. Exit 31, GL, and NCS Entertainment do an excellent job working with less to make Exit 31 an album that impresses in many more areas than most high budget projects. The music is continuously intense, creative, and real raising the question, “what else could you ask for in an album”?
Overall fans need to recognize, and tune into GL, and his exceptional release Exit 31. Exit 31 is mandatory listening, and must be held in heavy rotation. GL is a rising artist with much to offer fans that will lend an ear; therefore, listen up, and don’t miss out.
