MF Doom brings to his music deep, overwhelming emotions fans will feel. The concepts, rhymes, vocalization, style, beats, production, and overall quality is good; however, it’s the feelings encapsulated in the vocal birth of this rhymes that grasp fans with delight.”

MF Doom captivates listeners, packing emotions fans will feel within his incredible rhymes, and complimenting beats. Good, stand out examples are “Operation Greenbacks” ( featuring Megalon & King Ghidra ), “Red And Gold” ( featuring King Ghidra ), and “?” ( featuring Kurious Jorge ). One of the strongest positive aspects of this album is that if featured a wide variety of super-talented friends of MF Doom, which prove to marvel fans with their impacting contributions. Although all the songs featured on “Operation Doomsday” are appreciated, the most appreciated cut is “?” which overly appeases fans. Both MF Doom, and Kurious Jorge, rhyming alongside one another, easily get fans open with their dazzling microphone dynamics. The beat & creativity behind “?” is equally as impressive. “Tick Tick”, and “Who You Think I Am?” are also both impressive songs, and deserve positive recognition from hungry fans. “Who You Think I Am?” is a timeless cut featuring MF Dooms crew, as well as an exceptionally tight, mesmerizing clincher from Kong.

Synonymous with the positive aspects of this album, there are a few points that will receive critiques. Some fans will argue that MF Doom’s, more than occasional, simplistic rhyme schematics are rather mentally un-challenging, and rather bland; however, simplistic rhyme structure has many benefits, and many well known, and lessor known artists have gained wide success, appeasing many fans, with simpler rhymes. A wide majority of fans find “complex” rhymes like math class equations – looks pretty, but uneasily decipherable; therefore, that argument is very easily reversible. In MF Doom’s case, his rhymes, although simplistic at times, are still intellectual, and they say something, as oppose to nothing, conveying feelings very easily. The other critique this album will receive is for its overuse of skits. The skits are very creative, and do add to the creative aura of the album, but fans would be more impressed with another song, as oppose to 5 skits interrupting the musical flow.

MF Doom’s impressive album, “Operation Doomsday“, is a great album fans should check-out. A rare, closed minded few may not appreciate this album for its full beauty; however, it features great lyrics, great beats, and fans will “feel” the music. Artists like MF Doom remind us of how tight hip hop can be without having to blend or clone the standard norm.
