The Sick Lake Clique brings a unique, creative style to fans world wide. “The Invasion” is an explosively intense album that offers fans something unique, & refreshing. In addition to the Sick Lake Clique, the album features Claydo, Tyrant, Dante Thomas, Mikel Knight, Noogs, and more. “The Invasion” appears to be a compilation of sorts that serves up a buffet of talent to hungry fans.
The album opens up with a track entitled, “The Invasion”. This is the title track, and an exceptional way to lead off an album of this caliber. The beat is electric, and the lyrics are hard hitting & extremely intense. Fans are drawn into the music instantly, and held tight. The next joint, “Play Wit Me!”, is a fun track that is sure to get the most rooted crowd moving. The chorus certainly adds to the track, and helps to get listeners hype. This is the type of joint you could play at your grand dads retirement party, or at your frat house party, or at your family barbeque. The next track, “Fuck U Judaz”, is diversely creative. The beat is sexy, alluring, and sensual. The lyrics are smoothly laid with lust, style, and desire. Definitely a track that will surely get heads nodding. An assortment of gems continues to plaster the album. The music is hot through-out the album. There are no dips, or dull points in the flow.
The most notable tracks include “Play Wit Me!”, “Its Gangsta”, “Who Wants Sum?”, “Why Do Angels Fall”, “Luv N Lust”, “Let Me Cee U”, and “Thug Luv”. In songs like “Play Wit Me!” fans savor the flavor of artists having fun with their music. On songs like “Why Do Angels Fall” fans feel the music deeply as they ride the chillaxin vibe. On songs like “Its Gangsta” fans are murdered with intensity at its best and most explosive point. Out of the tracks that lead the pack, “Why Do Angels Fall” is the leader. The least appreciated track is “U Aint”. It’s the clincher for the album, it does send a strong message, and it is a good song; however, it’s a sliver behind the pack. With tracks like “Thug Luv” fans feel the realism in the music, which for the most part, contains content fans can easily relate with, and retain insight from. It’s always nice when artists drop real subject matter in their rhymes, as oppose to too much non realistic, commonplace glamour.
Some critics may critique the albums interlude / skit. It’s titled “Buss Yo Straps”, and it’s located at track spot number five. Interludes are always a bad idea on an album. They are added for creative purposes, and artistic expression, but most times they merely hinder the flow of the album, and make listeners hit skip.
“The Invasion” is an excellent album that is sure to get mad recognition from both fans, and the industry world wide. Sick Lake Clique is talented, intense, and creative with their music. The other artists featured (refer to track listing) add to the compilation positively. Everyone on this album contributes in a big way, as there is never a dull moment in the music.
