The album starts with one of the most perfect introduction tracks fans need to hear, as it’s incredibly creative, tight, and meaningful. A prelude to the production work on the album, & the title track as the introduction is titled “The Great Awakening”. Backed by an incredible beat, some wise words, and cool effects that easily get fans craving more. The production behind the introduction is by Deejay Essence, and narrative vocals by Rick Horne, and Harold Hutchinson. The second track, Glorious, is a fun song that enlightens fans with some essentials of the Christian Faith. Solid lyrics, an incredible beat, and some exceptional production work make “Glorious” a definite favorite. The next track, My New Life, is the best song featured on the album. Timothy Brindle destroys the microphone delivering smooth, ever flowing, intense, real lyrics fans can relate to. No gimmicks, or lack of reality, Timothy writes, and rhymes about real subject mater. Like all of the songs featured on “The Great Awakening”, Timothy puts a lot of himself inside “My New Life” as fans get the whole picture. The album continues with flawless rhymes, beats, and production dynamics. Each, and every song on the album compliments one another equally in terms of overall quality; however, some other highly notable tracks include “Rams Horn”, “Behind Bars”, “Love Music”, “Psalm 51”, and “Liberation”.
Timothy Brindle’s greatest qualities are intensity, uniqueness, creativity, incredible writing & oral delivery, flow & articulation, and story telling. Timothy isn’t like every other rapper rhyming about how dope they are, or how much money they have, or how they score females by the bed load. Instead Timothy tells captivating stories, & rhymes on real, meaningful subject mater to appease fans, offering a breath of fresh air to cleanse a sometimes overly stagnant industry. “The Great Awakening” features 78 minutes, 26 seconds of scorching, creative, positive music, 18 tracks long. All of the songs are well worth tuning into. The album never dips in quality, and always maintains above the highest level fans can imagine. Lamp Mode Recordings deserves to be noted for their exceptional work putting together the whole package. The album artwork is very well done, the package is professional, and DJ Essence has done a fantastic job with the production & recording which are definite strong points of the album the whole way through from beginning to end.
Guest spots include Shai Linne, J-Silas, muzeOne of Redeemed Thought, and Gina Campbell. Producers include DJ Essence, DJ Cast One, DJ Man-e, and Outtareach. All of these artists including Jason O’Mara’s flute in Psalm 51, and John Piper, and Desiring GOD Ministries sermon excerpt in Sanctification Introduction contributed strongly to the albums overall strength.
In an interview with “What’s The Word Magazine” Timothy said, “The album’s underlying theme is the awakening of my soul, or the new birth of Timothy Brindle. It celebrates God’s miraculous power in giving new life to spiritually dead sinners and testifies of His love, kindness, and grace– in taking those who were once His enemies storing wrath for themselves, and graciously punishing Jesus Christ in their place. Now God makes these former rebels His adopted children to serve Him and His agenda.
The album deals with personal issues such as the Christian’s struggle with sin, growing in holiness (sanctification), and the cost of following Christ (i.e. breaking up with a girlfriend or leaving crew). The project also addresses a few controversial issues such as the universal depravity of man, the reality of Hell and God’s judgment, the long standing debate of “Christ-centeredness” in Christian hip-hop, while exposing heretical health and wealth teachers and faulty doctrines. This album features production by DJ Essence. The project will also feature Shai Linne and J-Silas of Rock Soul Entertainment, and muzeONE of Redeemed Thought.”
Some critics might critique that the album features Christian content, and positive subject mater. This is the only critique anyone can legitimately make towards “The Great Awakening”, and to many fans & listeners world wide this is a positive; rather than, a negative factor. The album is flawless with regards to its musical content, and it would be hard for anyone to critique the albums musical quality.
Fans will be disappointed if they do not listen to “The Great Awakening”, and decide to “sleep on” Timothy Brindle as he is a magnificent artist with massive potential. It’s a sure bet that this album will receive wide praise, and much play. Very Strong Recommendation for heavy rotation.
