“Previously this year, Low Pressure Records released their sampler album, “A Day In The Life Of Brian”, which received a wide embrace from fans world wide. Because of the wide demand for the sample, and the quickly depleted initial run, the label decided to repackage, modify, and re-release the project. Fans who picked up the sampler album will also want to pick up the compilation because both albums, although alike in many ways, are still very different.”
This compilation is different from the sample in the sense it features four of Brian’s ( DJ Moves ) best cuts ( “Wednesday”, “Theories”, “Women Loving Women”, and “Nursing Home” ), unfortunately with Moka Only’s blazing joint “Moked Out” absent. Eleven new songs, two of which are previously released on other projects (Birdapres’s “In My Life” and Kunga219’s “Subtled Senses”), grace the roster of this delightfully appeasing album.
The line up for this compilation consists of Governor Bolts, Ink Operated, Tachichi, Buck 65, Kotep Omegatron, Josh Martinez, DJ Moves, Bird Apres, Kunga 219, 5 Headed Retard, Contra Banned, and more. A very impressive line up in which Governor Bolts, and Josh Martinez shine intensely providing some of the best cuts on the album without question. Joints like “Wednesday”, “BC Trees”, “Women Loving Women”, “Nursing Home”, and “Back In The Day” make this album worthy of “heavy rotation”, and high fan praise.
The best cut on this album is “Wednesday” by Governor Bolts. Without giving the story away, this track is very interesting, holding the listeners attention, and commanding their eye’s to bat a couple tears. Very well written, and performed track that will appease fans. The least appreciated track featured on this compilation is “Chicks Dig Moves” by Tachichi. Tachichi is an incredible artists, just as DJ Moves is extremely talented on the back drop, but neither really “come off” on this compilation like the professionals they truly are. Moves wonders in and out of the listeners attention span with good back drops for artists, but fails the grade on his lacking instrumentals. This attributes the one twist this compilation has; however, the excellent vocals, and beats within the full blown songs, and the classic gem-tracks truly give fans exactly want they want, making this compilation worth your listen.
The Low Pressure Compilation, and its impressive album roster, and frequently placed gems make this album a definite “choice” selection. Good songs, put together by good artists make this compilation something that will easily appease fans. Is this album better than the sample, without question; therefore, giving fans, and already owners of the sample another reason to purchase this album, and enjoy its many offerings.
